White 'Le Chant du Coq' Le Chant 2023The White ‘Le Chant du Coq’ is a pure Chenin Blanc with a rich and full taste, yet not lacking in freshness, produced in South Africa by the winery Le Chant. The South African territory represents a second home for Chenin Blanc, a prized white grape variety native to the Loire Valley. It is the most cultivated grape in the country, where it is also known by the synonym “Steen” and to which over 18% of the entire vineyard area is dedicated. Chenin Blanc arrived in South Africa during the 17th century, where it was immediately appreciated for its high productivity and its ability to retain significant amounts of organic acids even in the hottest areas. Paradoxically, today South Africa has double the hectares dedicated to Chenin Blanc compared to France.‘Le Chant du Coq’ Le Chant White is a 100% Chenin Blanc from vines grown in the cool oceanic climate of the Polkadraai area. The plants are approximately 35 years old and are cultivated in accordance with the principles of organic farming. In the winery, the grapes are vinified in white through soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation of the must in partly in small stainless steel tanks and partly in old French oak barrels. The subsequent maturation phase takes place on the fine lees between oak, steel, and cement for about 8 months, after which blending and final bottling occur. The Chenin Blanc ‘Le Chant du Coq’ White from Le Chant is of intense straw yellow color. The aromatic bouquet offers hints of white apple, apricot, and orange blossom, enriched by notes of flint and oak. On the palate, it reveals ample richness and full body, elements well balanced by sharp freshness and the persistent savory-mineral trail.19,00 £*Shipping: 48,00 £Secure redirect to the provider

Rosso 'Le Chant du Coq' Le Chant 2020The Red ‘Le Chant du Coq’ from the South African project Le Chant is a label characterized by a modern and international style, resulting from a particular blend of Bordeaux-origin varieties, Shiraz, and Sangiovese. This bottle expresses the meeting between the Old and New Worlds, particularly between the French wine tradition and the contemporary winemaking approach of South Africa. Behind the Le Chant project lies the experience of the Oddo family, of French origin, involved in the wine world for five generations, and a key player in various realities spread between France and South Africa, including Le Piton in Sancerre, Taaibosch in Stellenbosch, and Le Chant, also in Stellenbosch. At the origin of the Red ‘Le Chant du Coq’ from Le Chant is a peculiar assembly of Merlot (38%), Cabernet Franc (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon (21%), Shiraz (9%), and Sangiovese (2%). These varieties are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming in the Poolkadraai area, on hilly soils well exposed to the cool ocean breezes. The harvest is done entirely by hand, and the bunches are then vinified in red with fermentation alcoholic in stainless steel tanks accompanied by skin maceration. Subsequently, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels for aging of over a year, followed by an additional maturation of 11 months partly in cement. Finally, after about 6 months of resting in the bottle, the wine is ready for market release.‘Le Chant du Coq’ Red Le Chant has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, there are precious notes of blackberry, raspberry, violet, olive, cinnamon, and dried herbs. A fresh and vibrant tasting experience, defined by a very elegant tannic structure that contributes to the excellent overall structure, anticipating a coherent fruity and spicy finish.19,00 £*Shipping: 48,00 £Secure redirect to the provider

Le Mortelle - Antinori Rosso 'Botrosecco' Le Mortelle-Antinori 2023The "Botrosecco" Red is a wine made from a typical blend of the Tuscan Maremma, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the result of Antinori's centuries-old experience in producing great reds. Indeed, Le Mortelle is one of the estates acquired over the decades by the Antinori family, with the intent to create a responsible production with very little impact on the environment. The "Botrosecco" is a harmonious label, where the territorial characteristics, the aromas reminiscent of the Maremma vegetative scrub, combine with notes derived from maturation in wood, giving rise to a very pleasant olfactory profile. This "Botrosecco" Red is born from a skillful blend that Antinori creates within the cellar of the Le Mortelle estate, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc happily come together. The vines of these two varieties grow in the vineyards surrounding Castiglione della Pescaia, characterized by a terroir where silica, clay, and skeleton alternate from parcel to parcel. The grapes, once harvested, carry out alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in wood, macerating for about 15 days with periodic pump-overs. The aging takes place in barrique, and lasts for 12 months, after which the bottling operations are carried out. The "Botrosecco" is a Red wine that reveals itself to the eye with a particularly intense color, reminiscent of ruby red notes. The bouquet of aromas that envelops the nose is a mix of sensations of Mediterranean scrub and tertiary aromas, derived from aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied, delicate, with a finely integrated tannic structure, and with a sip that, in the finish, is characterized by a21,00 £*Shipping: 48,00 £Secure redirect to the provider

Olianas - Le Anfore Cannonau Le Anfore di Elena Casadei 2024
The Cannonau Le Anfore by Elena Casadei is a deep sip of the Mediterranean, a multifaceted liquid that combines depth and aromatic availability. A relatively young reality, founded in 2000, the Olianas winery bottles territorial expressions telling the story of a lesser-known area of Sardinia to drinkers, but no less valid, namely that of Sarcidano. The winery, born from the fruitful meeting between Stefano Casadei, a Tuscan producer, and Artemio Olianas, has decided to focus on local varieties, thus in the vineyard there is room for Cannonau, Bovale, and Carignano for red grape varieties, while for white grape varieties Vermentino and Nasco are cultivated, the latter particularly suited for the production of passito wines. The warm and dry climate translates into liquids that certainly do not lack extract and substance, but which certainly do not lack drinkability and originality of profile. The Cannonau Le Anfore wine is a pure expression of the homonymous grape variety obtained from vines that rest on clayey-sandy soils of calcareous and basaltic origin. In the vineyard, the principles of biodynamics are followed, excluding the use of chemical or synthetic substances and preserving the vitality of soil and fruits, as well as the rich local biodiversity. In the winery, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and maceration of about 25 days in contact with the skins continue. The liquid ages for at least 8 months in terracotta amphorae before bottling. The Cannonau Casadei presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby robe edged with violet reflections. The nose is broad and evocative, where clear references to the Mediterranean scrub, juniper, myrtle, and licorice stand out. The sip tells of a perfectly successful combination of power, complexity, and savory length, the latter functional in enticing a subsequent tasting. A thoroughbred.
